Sweet Spot is a product of Kaufman Communications' publishing division. It was created by Charles Kaufman in 1992, when a significant part of the business consisted of target market publications. He has been interviewed as a leading observer of the sports memorabilia industry for articles in the Boston Globe, the Chicago Sun-Times, The Dallas Morning News and other newspapers and featured on Forbes.com. Mr. Kaufman founded his communications business in 1989 to help a variety of clients with a multitude of media and marketing needs, including

Kaufman Communications has served numerous national clients, among them, First Union Small Business Capital (formerly The Money Store Commercial Lending Division), Sony Corporation of America, AMS Production Group, Sprint PCS, the Motorola Marathon, Supercuts, HealthTronics, Jenkens & Gilchrist, P.C., The Muskin Company, Transwestern and Collier's International.

Mr. Kaufman received his masters degree in journalism in 1976 from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University; and his bachelors degree from The University of Texas at Austin. He also studied economics at City of London Polytechnic. He served as Business Editor and Assistant Marketing Services Director for the Austin American-Statesman after working as an editor and columnist at the Pulitzer Prize-winning Arkansas Gazette. Kaufman also has written for a range of publications, from The New York Post's SportsWeek magazine and The National Pastime, published by the Society of American Baseball Research, to the Texas Bar Journal. He currently is on the faculty of Texas State University.
